Bellefontaine, OH (January 30, 2015) - Dr. Phillip Edwards is the newest orthopedic surgeon to join the expert team of physicians at Mary Rutan Hospital Orthopedics, located at 2221 Timber Trail, in Bellefontaine. Dr. Edwards is trained in general orthopedics covering a broad range of services from the latest arthroscopic surgery techniques to total replacement of hips, knees and shoulders.
Dr. Edwards received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He practiced most recently in Portsmouth, Ohio and for a number of years in Sidney, Ohio.
Specializing in anthroscopy of the shoulders and knees, cartilage and meniscus injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures and dislocations, joint pain and arthritis, sports injuries, tendon and ligament injury, total joint replacement of the hips, shoulders and knees, as well as joint lubricant injections; Dr. Edwards offers a broad base of general orthopedic services with more than 25 years of experience.
Mary Rutan Hospital Orthopedics now employs four full-time orthopedic surgeons as Dr. Edwards joins Dr. Robert Anderson, Dr. Thomas Franklin, and Dr. Brennen Smith. The practice also recently welcomed James (JR) Robinson, Physician Assistant.
